Psychiatry in Ethiopia

Obtaining mental health services is something many take for granted in Canada. In the African nation of Ethiopia, a decade ago, eleven psychiatrists provided services for the entire population of eighty million. Now, a joint training project between the Departments of Psychiatry at the Universities of Toronto and Addis Ababa, are turning out some of Africa’s most skilled practitioners.
