Hi Sheila, just decided to google and see what came up, lo and behold you did.

Read some of your poetry, not too bad for a beginner of 60 years of age, I celebrated my 60th this year as well,

how on earth are you, what are you at, the planet is still here, not as safe as it was but we do tend to rattle along.

Helen is well, I too am OK, hows Greg ?. That,s my e.mail address above make sure to get back to me.

I have been studying your weblog posts during my smoke break, and I must admit the whole article has been very useful and very properly composed. I believed I might let you realize that for some reason this blog doesn't show effectively in IE 8. I wish Microsoft would cease upgrading stuff. I have a question for you. Do you mind swapping blog roll links? That would be really neat!

Great article...the bear in the Ojibwe culture here is the symbol for the warrior. The warrior is a brave one who has overcome fear and knows the territory they are in and can therefore outsmart any opposition. A warrior is one who has overcome oppression and fearful situations to rise above. He/She can then speak for their family and community in the face of oppression and wrongdoing. To the peaceful warriors that stood at the blockades and continue to rise above...as Luke Skywalker says may the force be with you!
Regards Jane

Hi Bariki Ileta,

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Actually, the radio project has expanded. Now we reach abouit 10 million listeners through radio. And as though this is not enough, I am with support of friends, bringing ICTs in my remote village of Nyakasimbi in Karagwe district.

Through a mass campaign that I am waging, I am resolved to teach computers to all people in my village regardless of age, sex or academic background. This will be like an ice nbreaker since "computers" still remain a jargon and vocabularly that majority do not yet know.

Welcome to join our efforst as we try to make ends meet for them, and also build their capacity to a better livelihood.

This is an interesting artilce. I. like many Marshallese who live within the 250 miles radius of Rongelap Atoll, we are extremely concern that the residents of Rongelap are being forced to move back to Rongelap. Too many times, the United States have lied to the Marshallese people. While much U.S. money has been poured into the ROngelap Atoll Local Government, this is dollar diplomacy, only carried out to silence the ROngelap Council. How sad!

Wake up Marshallese. There is a forocious and hungry wolf amongst our people. It's better we starve than the U.S. Government to exterminate us ever so slowly and painfully. Wake up!

Norma Jean.
This is a lovely capture of the transformation of Mapaki but please make a note that Carolyn came to Sierra Leone under the auspices and guidance of The Centre for Development and Peace Education - cdpeace - founded by Sierra Leoneans Dr. Thomas Mark Turay (a child of Mapaki) and his wife, Mary Hawa Turay (from a neighbouring Chiefdom). The Turays and cdpeace were the ones who initiated and facilitated and largely funded the library and those programs - donations were to cdpeace. I myself, as a volunteer for cdpeace, collected book donations for the libaray and raised money from my employer in Canada to fund a scholarship for a teacher. Please make note that there are LOTS of people and local organizations that have made the transformation of Mapaki possible. While I know Carolyn and admire her commitment, she didn't do it alone.

[...] Jennifer Moore – an independent print and radio journalist – has produced a 10-minute radio documentary featuring the work of our partner in Honduras: FIPAH (the Foundation for Participatory Research with Honduran Farmers). The report does an excellent job of explaining FIPAH’s work – helping small hillside farmers improve their lives through seed saving and on-farm experimentation – and explaining why it’s so important. The audio report is accompanied by a print article, and both are available through the Green Planet Monitor. Check them out! [...]

It was wonderful to see and hear Dr. Shiva speak in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada last week on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Even though it was a two hour drive and the temperature was almost minus twenty degrees Celsius that night it was worth it.

Even tho, on the surface, the US appears to be Israel's best friend in the world, US actions in that part of the world are working to undermine Israel.

Let me explain. Prior to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, a Sunni tyrant, Saddam Hussein kept a majority of the Iraq population, the Shia, in check and kept Iran as a single state. After the Iraq-Iran war was fought to a stalemate, Iran changed it's methods and began to focus its energy on creating client states. When the US first defeated the Taliban and al Queda that got one group of Sunnis off of Iran's east border, no threat there anymore. Then the US got rid of the last Sunni strongman in Hussein. The Arab Gulf states, have no military and beau coup barrels of oil under the sand. The Arab Gulf states really have no choice but to submit to Iran's demands.

Iran will not have to go to war with Israel. They will surround Israel, similar to a starfish surrounding and opening a clam.
