Palestinian Journalists Under Fire

Exposing Apartheid Israel

Targeted

Basel Adra is a 27-year-old Palestinian journalist from the village of Tuwani, in the Masafer Yatta region of the southern Palestinian West Bank, reporting for the Israeli publication 972mag.com.

On July 15, while covering a Jewish colonist attack on his village, Basel was detained by Israeli military forces. After several hours of abuse — bound and blindfolded under a hot sun — Basel was released.

Nothing new for this young Palestinian journalist.

Nor for his colleagues, routinely detained, assaulted, arrested and occasionally gunned down by Apartheid Israeli soldiers and police.
